Midland Oil Group Ltd was formed in 2023. With a vision of bringing together UK independent lubricant blenders, lubricant brands and re-refining abilities to strengthen the UK independent offering. Owned by Mark Hayes & Richard Parry, two passionate ex-employees who together carry over 30 years’ experience in the industry. The Midland Oil Group was developed to continue the growth of the current business`s that sit under the umbrella and the owners’ plans are to continue this growth and development. Future acquisitions, product development and investment are three of the core plans of Midland Oil Groups future.
Our Legacy in Oil Refining
In 2012 current owners Mark Hayes & Richard Parry joined Midland Oil Refinery Ltd. At this point Varol Lubricants was in its infancy as a new oil brand, launched to compliment the oil reconditioning service offered by Midland Oil Refinery. As an independent UK manufacturer, the business had some seriously challenging times such as Environmental Agency Permits to adhere to under strict guidelines, Brexit was a huge impact on raw material supply and costs and most recently Covid where every business in the UK suffered and had to find new ways to work.
An ageing site had to be closed for several months for some serious plant remedial works, causing a huge impact on the business.
Midland oil Refinery had to close its distillation facility due to the UK market drying up. A facility which is largely bespoke in the UK was an expensive luxury in a declining market, the facility still stands tall within our plant for the potential to re-instate.
Brexit played a huge part in the supply of raw materials coming into the UK, this had an impact on the supply of finished goods to our customers Uk and beyond.
Covid-19 struck the World and the UK also, businesses closing and some never recovered. Our site had to run on a skeleton staff for the duration just to keep those open producing still. In this process we lost good people through retirement, job relocation causing a huge staff overhaul.
The invasion of Ukraine. Unknown to many, Ukraine were a huge supplier of raw materials to Europe for over 50% of our finished products. This then seen the ban for Russian products entering Europe so combined this caused shortages, prices rocketing and the manufacturing and supply to our customers extremely difficult.

A unique service offering to the lubricant industry: we take end of life lubricants classified as waste and regenerate them back into the industry as news oils. We use tried and tested engineering methods dating back over 70 years, allowing us to offer sustainable, environmentally-friendly lubricating solutions.
We manufacture and supply high-performance lubricants and oils for a wide-range of sectors, including Industrial, Manufacturing, Commercial Vehicles, Agricultural, Automotive Passenger Car, Heat Treatment and many more. Over 4000 products suitable for all lubricating applications.
We are specialists in the formulation & manufacturing of industrial oils, metal cutting fluids, and metalworking lubricants for the engineering & manufacturing sectors. Over 250 products available for all applications.
Specialists in small pack filling: fom syringes to automotive packs, including chemicals, medicines, oils, greases, waxes and much more. With over 40 years' experience and unique technology, Kwikfill can formulate, blend, and packing a wide range of small-pack items, including NHS and automotive products.

We work closely with a large group of distributors, resellers even manufacturers where they require our own labelling/toll blending service. With our in house graphic design, printing facility we can offer multiple batch runs or the client specific one offs in their own branded goods. We stock a large variety of packaging to suit the clients demands, along with varies label offerings this customisable service is a growing part of our organisation and one we are always looking to support our clients alongside.
